The idea sounds really good . It is not a simple task .let us go in a more planned and organised way .to start of the best idea is we need to raise funds from well settled kamma alround the globe.for this we need to have a group of two to three looking after fund management and communicating to each and every sponsor where their money is utilised. i think the best point to start is helping KIDS who are higly intelligent but drop out of schools since they cant afford to study furture.for this task to achieve let us concentrate on all schools in a small region of area. spread out a circular saying there is a special scholarship for kamma students and those who are intrested can apply.based on the applications we get and considering the funds we have .we can pick some eligible candidates .
i had a plan of doing something like this .
please let me know when things start falling into place i would love to give a helping hand ....

Now the number of Kammavelugu members is 3750. I am going to start a Charitable trust to help the poorest of the poor Kammas mainly living in rural areas, providing basic education and health. When we are going to collect funds, reliability and accountability is more important. We have to discuss more on it.

hi friends i think first to collect the total kamma people in india atleast. i think in summer holidays we will have enough time to collect data by division wise.

We need to get the Kammas population first. Assembly segments wise and districts wise. In this regard Rayapati Sambasiva Rao, made some efforts earlier. I will meet him and get the data and publish in the website.

The idea of helping poor people in our community is great, but this idea shouldnt remain only as idea in the forum it should get implemented in pratical so has any one taken any initiative??

Hai every body,
Before raising funds it is necessary to find out how many Kammas are there.where are they living,their occupation ,their family particulars,their source of income ,their educational back ground ,their health conditions if they are lower middle class.Then categorise them as economically back ward,financially back ward,educationally back ward,socially back ward,lack of moral support.This has to be done within a fixed time frame of say six months.Then decide on which area needs more concentration and upliftment.To start with collect the data from our families,near relations,and their relations and so on and so forth.

hello everybody,
I agree with leo's idea. i think its good idea if we come up with a template which collects all the information as leo specified and save that information on to a database and from which we can pull out reports categorised as financially back ward,acdamically back ward,lack of moral support. so this reports can help us to understand where we are and how we move forward. and also i think it would be good idea if we link up this template to our home page (kammavelugu.org) and also pass on to our student community in every corner of the state.

if the Admin is happy about the idea we should start preparing the estimates in designing the template and the database to move forward

Hope all of you fine.

It is best thing to help the poorest among kammas especially education wise. Also we should help poor among other caste students who really deserves help. I am ready to give my contribution. But it should go to correct person(s).

Also every one of us should try to give something back to our native places/villages in the form of construction of schools, roads also giving water facility. Also users should be more active in this site as i can not see many posts but there are lots of viewers. We should not be ashamed of posting our views.

I can give one suggestion to whoever managing 'Kammavelugu' to find out population of kammas especially in Andhra Pradesh.

We have one site: http://ceoandhra.nic.in/dist_ac.asp

where we can find District wise/Constituency wise/Polling both wise voters.
From that by matching with our household names we can find out first number voters in each constituency. If we add 20-25%[Below age 18] to that voters list we can approximately find out total population of kammas in Andhra Pradesh.

But it needs some people to sit and patiently count all the kamma voters among them, Also they need to know all the household names of kammas.

But it is wrong as it is taken from AndhraBhoomi/1998 edition.

We all know whom Andhrabhoomi supports.

Ex: I have gone through Guntur-1 constituency and i found there are about 12000 kamma population in this constituency but they have shown it as around 5000. There might 10% diffrenct in my caculation as i am not aware of all household names of kammas more so some household names of kammas are also house hold names of other castes.

Along with these things we also need to find out how many are poorest among each constituency that we can find out by consulting local people of each constituency/Mandal wise/polling booth wise.

I strongly agree with Admin that we need to have Kamma database all over Andhra pradesh first... as technology developed and communication is easy now a days, with not much money we can achieve this... if we have database at one place, where we search each village find poor people, their status it is easy to counsel them according to their needs.... we can have experts from different fields to counsel them, to guide them and to fund them...

I hope kammavelugu will take the lead in this process...
